Helloooooo there , how are you all doing today? I’m super excited about this blog. I am excited to see how God uses this platform to transform our lives. The Word of God is powerful, it transforms, it heals, it delivers, it is life! Welcome to our first lesson on this series.
Fruit- I define a fruit as a physical, tangible result the word of God produces in our lives. What is your definition? Pls share in the comment section below.
Growing up as a Christian, I always thought fruits in the bible was in relation to answered prayers or wining souls. If I pray for a job and I get it, then that is the fruit of my prayer, and if I shared the word of God and someone came to Christ, that was also a fruit. These are truths, the bible does refer to answered prayers and souls won as fruits.
Today we would look at another meaning of the word fruit in the bible. In Matt 7:16 the bible says by their fruits you shall know them. This means there are visible fruits in the lives of people that tells you what seed is on the inside of them. When God gives us His word, He expects us to bear fruits in our character, actions and responses.
For example; 1 Thessalonians 5: 19 says in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Let’s say I’m the type of Christian that complains a lot when things don’t go so well, I come across this verse and realize oh my! God doesn’t want me complaining. If I steward this word until it bears fruit in my life, I would begin to notice that I complain a lot less that I used too, I notice I am becoming more thankful. People around me would also begin to see that I complain less. This shows that that word has yielded some fruit in my life. The more I steward and obey this word, the more fruit (thankfulness) it bears in my life.
If I desire certain fruits in my life, then I need to get the word of God that yields that fruit and have it planted in my heart. If I’m struggling with walking in love, then I need to get God’s word on walking in love, plant and cultivate that word till it bears the fruit of love in my heart. I would see that fruits in my actions towards others. I would notice the changes in my attitude and responses towards people. All fruits can be seen.
God always send His word for a purpose. His word is seed and every word has the capacity to bear fruits in our lives if only we can steward that word. Are you bearing fruits with the Word?
Love Always
Obebi
