One morning while sitting and listening to God, I had this thought drop in my heart about Joseph. I heard the question – Do you know I wanted Joseph in prison for a purpose? Interesting I thought, and immediately I knew God wanted me to dig deeper into that.
Why would God want Joseph in prison? All this while I thought the devil tried to truncate Joseph’s destiny through Potiphar’s wife and God preserved him in the prison. Never did it cross my mind that it was the other way around. God wanted Joseph in prison for a purpose, Potiphar’s wife was only a tool used to work out God’s purpose.
We see this in the life of Jesus. Jesus was sent to die on the cross for our sins. He knew that already, it had been prophesied. The devil however wanted to destroy Jesus, he instigated the hearts of men to destroy Christ, not knowing that he was only aligning Jesus to purpose and the fulfilment of prophecy.
1 Corinthians 2: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Bringing this home to our lives, there might be certain difficulties you are experiencing or certain situations which you know is an attack of the devil. Be assured that even those difficulties or challenges are working for you. It is easy to get offended, discouraged or disappointed in God when it seems like obeying Him has made things worse for you. Joseph choose to flee because he feared God. His decision to do right landed him in prison. On the surface that looked bad, it looked like things were getting worse instead of better. It would be easy for Joseph to feel hurt, angry or discouraged because he seemed to have reaped no outward rewards for his God-fearing choices. However, God used that incident to bring joseph a step closer to his place of purpose.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Have you experienced a set back and you feel discouraged? Hang in there and keep faith alive, it is working for your good. Do not be discouraged, refuse to complain or get angry, stay strong knowing that, the setback, challenge, difficulty has brought you a step closer to the place of your purpose.

Sometimes it’s hard to see when you are in the situation, that’s why it’s so important to have reminders from the Word.
So true. Thank God for reminders.
It has taken me a while, but I’m beginning to grasp that ROM 8:28 scripture.
We might not see it immediately but things eventually work out for our good and purpose.
So true, most times we cannot see it immediately but it eventually does work out for our good. Thanks for sharing
